A L A R I E T E

Born in Guadalajara, México is 24 yrs-old and co-director of “Alariete, Compañía de Artes Vivas” with Alejandra Marlet Torres Martinez, founded in 2013. At age 18, Victor discovered "busking" with his accordion in the streets in Quebec for a living and has sustained his artistry busking in many places all over the world since then.

In 2010, he produced his 1st original play titled “El Remedio es Evalu-Arte”. He studied Classical Philology in Romania for two years where he worked with “Teatrul Thespis” in Timişoara, Romania and performed in Romanian language as an actor in three plays under the direction of Moni Karman and Salahe. During this time, he conceived and embodied the character “Malló”, performing on the streets in Europe. He has attend some workshops at the Odin Theater in Denmark and worked as a puppeteer, musician and actor there.

After his marriage with Alejandra, company Alariete received a grant from the Secretaria de Cultura de Jalisco to develop Semilla de Ingenios: Formando Rutas, proyect in collaboration with MobileInTenet and with the Piñata Dance Collective participating in the 1st Annual Festival of Latin American Contemporary Choreographers !FLACC! Oakland California, 2014. He is currently touring the U.S. with the MobileInTenet project under the direction of Ann Schanke.
