A L A R I E T E

Magdalena´s  artistic career starts at her eighteen years old in the field of cinema and subsequently she was reformed by the visual arts. In 2008 she decided to study for the first time  a couple of diplomaed on cinema in the Department of Image and Sound (DIS) of the University of Guadalajara there she start as a production assistant in the production house Azul Tomate. Years later with director Jonathan E. Romero  she consolidate their knowledge in organization, production and media by working on several music video clips,  where she enter further into the field of management and organization of events. 

 

At the end of 2013 she move on and was part of the team Milos Funky studies in which she participated as a production assistant, dedicated to conducting pilots for television programs such as Discovery Travel and Living, VH1 and MTV channel. She has also worked on several independent projects such as recording, directing and producing the medium- documentary on "Proyecto REDES" which records the movement around the community of El Salto, Jalisco to save the Rio Santiago.  In that project she collaborated with the visual artist Claudia Ramírez Rodríguez and Ana Joaquina. Showing the film result at the Guadalajara Film Festival 2011 (Expo Guadalajara), the Museum of the city a couple of months later. Currently she is working on to present her work at  New Orleans.

 

Magdalena has always been interested in the artistic movements and the footprint of both the viewer and the artist. By 2012 she began to make photographic and audio recordings of various artists of Guadalajara. Beginning with the photographic recording of artist Joel Gomez. He intervening public spaces where large format fabrics, recording in the main park of El Salto, Jalisco, a collaboration in conjunction with the "Proyecto REDES" .  She also records some interventions at the Hospicio Cabañas and finally the French Alliance .  She had also been assistant editorial photography magazine "MEMBRANE" as a visual artist and has several exhibitions both in collaboration and individually. Some of her exhibitions where exposed at the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in PAҪTO Gallery and in other in non common places as a former mechanical workshop.

 

In 2013 she produced a collective art exhibition in- situ in the tannery zone of Guadalajara,   inviting various artists from different areas to make pieces about what's happening around in the neighborhood of  "La Esperanza",  where she managed, produced and diffused the project called "BUSQUEDAD" .   On BUSQUEDAD she meet for the first time Víctor Figueroa y Alejandra Marlet and due to this artistic interventions they need to present their work as a group, so they decided to call themselves  "Alariete". 

 

Since late 2013 Magdalena Bocanegra attends Alariete performing arts company in the work of management and production of  the company.  Currently she is pursuing a degree in Cultural Management at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas, belonging to the Ministry of Cultural of Jalisco. She is working now with the Alariete live arts company while developing some independent art projects.
